I’m Lori Stiver, and I’ve been continuing with Jesus since October 1991.

I was born and raised in the Nutmeg state (AKA, Connecticut) but have been living in (and enjoying!) the Buckeye state (Ohio) for all of my adult life.  Please ignore the recurring “nut” theme.  Total coincidence.

I graduated from college in 1995 with a degree in a field of science that, by its nature, prevents me from speaking about it with any other humans.  This is because, in real life, no one cares.

After college, I taught that science to high school students for five years.  Most of them survived.

I met my husband, Paul, at the school where we were both teaching.  We met at the copier. He liked the way I looked when I walked down the hall.  I liked his ears. And my students liked coming to class and trying to derail a lesson by asking me about wedding plans.

This never worked.

Today, Paul is still teaching in a public school, and I home school our three children. They don’t ask me about wedding plans much.

One of my greatest pleasures has been studying God’s Word and teaching it to women.  I’ve been teaching women in different capacities since my college ministry days.  These days, I co-teach a women’s Sunday School class, lead Bible studies at my church, and speak at women’s events.

I like to knit, chocolate is my love language, jigsaw puzzles are a favored form of relaxation, and my love of Jane Austen borders on a neurosis.

Also, I have a sense of humor.  But anyone who has to tell you that cannot possibly have a good one.  So, you’ve been warned.
